This song is about Heidi, a real cross-eyed opossum from North Carolina. She might not have been able to survive well in the wild, and was taken to an animal shelter. From there she went to her new home- in the Leipzig Zoo in Germany.

When I was first starting to record kid songs in the fall of 2008, I was writing a lot of songs, but didn’t know yet what the website or album would be called. The day after I wrote this song, a neighbor saw me get my guitar out of my car and said “You should come sing for my flowers. It will help them grow”. She was joking, but as I walked in, I suddenly had an idea. I took my guitar out of its case and started singing the same song using “song drops” instead of “sun drops”. Within a few seconds, I knew that would be the name of the albums and this website.
