Songdrops: A happy song by Bryant Oden

Here’s the youtube video for Songdrops.


The day after the song “Sundrops” came to me, I was getting my guitar out of my car, and a sweet gray-haired woman who lived across the street said with a smile, “Come sing for my flowers. it will help them grow”. I smiled at her joke and walked inside. Then it struck me how when people sing songs, those drops of song, like sun drops, can touch people’s hearts, and in a way, can feed the world a little, helping it to be a little happier and better and brighter.

It also struck me how all the different sounds we might hear outside, maybe at a park, like birds singing, leaves dancing in the wind, people talking, someone you love laughing, a dog barking, they can all be song drops that feed our hearts and help us smile.

I took my guitar out of the case, and changing “Sundrops” just a little, started singing “Song drops”. And as I sang, i knew I wanted to call my kids’ songs website “Songdrops”.

    3 days ago my cat was hit by a car. i was so upset that i hated everyone. then i herd my older sister playing this song. i cried and cried. in a good way though. god bless you

    you may find it weird that a 17 year old kid like me likes listening to these songs, but I find this one to be one of your best, its so amazing and even brought a tear to my eye. It reminds me that no matter how hard life is, you can always relax and listen for those drops of songs that are all around you everyday. Thank you for making such touching songs.

    I love The Stink Bug and the Skunk, because alot of people think that they’re better then others because of what they can do or have. When really, they’re no different then the next person. I’m a 10 year old, and I enjoy all of your songs.
