Wildflower

This song came to me in January of 2009 for a close friend. I recorded it a couple of days ago (late April 2009) so I could give them a copy.  Even though I hadn’t played this song in a few weeks, and didn’t do a run through or practice first, I felt like the spirit of the song came through in the raw, imperfect first take, so I stopped there.

Lyrics and guitar Chords/Tabs to Wildflower

D               C                             G                    D
Wildflower in the morning, singing to the dawn
Wildflower in the day, drinking in the sun
Wildflower in the storm, grateful for the rain
Wildflower in the night, loving the sun will rise again

C         G                          D          C           G                            D
And she cannot sense the nectar that has touched so many souls
And she cannot see the beauty of a wild open rose

Wildflower in the morning, singing to the dawn
Wildflower in the day, drinking in the sun
Wildflower in the storm, grateful for the rain
Wildflower in the night, loving the sun will rise again

And she does not fight the winter, or the icy winds that blow
She just rests inside her center, while the roots that feed her grow

Wildflower in the morning, singing to the dawn
Wildflower in the day, drinking in the sun
Wildflower in the storm, grateful for the rain
Wildflower in the night, loving the sun will rise again

Wildflower in the morning, singing to the dawn
Wildflower in the day, drinking in the sun
Wildflower in the storm, grateful for the rain
Wildflower in the night, loving the sun will rise again

Wildflower in the morning, singing to the dawn
