Striper the Kitty

Here’s the YouTube video for Striper the Kitty
A song about a little boy who finds a kitten and brings him home. But things aren’t exactly as they seem.  (This song is NOT really about a kitty! Can you figure out what baby animal it’s really about? Hints are under the video).

LYRICS and CHORDS:

CHORUS:

G           G              C                   D
Striper the kitty. I found him all alone
G         G                           C                           D
It would have been a pity Not to bring him home
G                G                 C                       D
There’s no other kitty like my new best friend
C                                   D                             C      D      G
With a big striped tail and funny smell But still I love him

1

G                                            C
I built a little home for him in the back of the shed
D                                                                   G
I gathered up some nice soft grass and made a bushy bed.
G                       C
I forgot to tell anybody he was there
D                                                        G
Cuz I don’t think that Striper really likes when people stare

2
I brought him some water and some kitty food
Hhe didn’t eat a lot of it, which seemed a little rude
He’s such a funny kitty- guess what he ate instead?
Half the grass I gathered that made up his soft bed

CHORUS
3
My sister got suspicious of my sneaking around
She followed me into the shed and you know who she found
This is my kitty Striper, please don’t tell anyone
I mean because they’re busy and don’t have much time for fun

4
My sister started laughing, why I’ll never know
Then she said believe me, we have to let him go.
Maybe for now it’s only me who knows you hid him there
But soon the whole town will know that something’s in the air

CHORUS

5
So we went back to the place where Striper and I met
We let him roam around a while but saw no momma yet
Then sticking up out of the grass I saw a big tall tail
It was black and white and striped and it kinda smelled

6
Striper scampered to his mom and she scampered to him.
They touched their little noses and then touched them again
Striper looked back at me and then he blinked goodbye
Then they ran off together while I laughed and cried

Final CHORUS ending:
Even though he had to go I’ll always love him
Maybe one day when I go play I’ll see him again

He really brought home a: KNUKS.
